Flooded basement = food vouchers!

This has got to be the most ridiculous thing I have heard in quite some time. This lady has come to the conclusion that since her basement was flooded she is in need of food vouchers from the government. Honestly this person needs to get out of line and let somebody with actual needs in her place. Unless your basement was a food pantry and was the only thing you had left, then you might have a need.

Charline Britt was the 24th person in line at the Marcia P. Coggs public assistance building about 4:30 a.m. today, hoping to receive some help after her basement flooded during the recent rains.

I don’t think anybody in this line is going hungry, do you?

Even thought the line looks well fed, there are some people who actually do need the help. As is the case of this person.

One of those in line was Tanya Parrott, a mother of five boys. She said she had worked for seven years as a certified medical assistant but now is out of work.

“I lost my job in April,” she said. “I’ve been interviewing since then.”

Sadly people really need to start relying on their neighbors, close friends and relatives for help and quit leaning so heavily on the government.

And so goes the cruel and heartless post of the week. ∞

Let’s do this thing!

We know it is inevitable that Iran is going to be bombed, and Israel is probably going to lead the way. When the whole world is already against you, what do you have to loose? I can only imagine the firestorm that will erupt from this move to neuter Iran. It is a sure bet that Russia will get involved since they are so entrenched in the Iranian nuclear program. Of course Syria and the Hezbollah will use it as an excuse to unleash the rockets they are just itching to use. Sound apocalyptic? Well it is. The position Israel is in now had been prophesized to happen and here we are just waiting for someone to light the fuse. Are you ready?

Just what the future holds.

After reading some of the reports coming out of Iowa and the flood affected areas, things do not look good at all. I have a feeling this flood will impact this country much more than Hurricane Katrina did. The reason for that assumption is, this flood is affecting our food supplies. At any rate, we will soon find out how bad its going to get.

On another note, I got some snippets from a story on CNN.com and some interesting insights of what marshal law looks like, and just what the future may hold for other disaster victims.

The first one:

To me this does not make sense. First you can go in, then you cant, we changed our minds. I would like to know just why it has suddenly become “unsafe”.

The Second:

Now you have to take a mark. I guess in this situation its a good thing. You don’t want people roaming around in there that do not belong, especially if they get the chance to loot and pillage.

The Third:

This one is just plain bizarre. The lady was dead in her car, and it was stopped. THEN it was hit by a National Guard bus. Did the bus driver think this stopped car was just going to move out of its way because it was a “National Guard” bus? Did the bus driver know how to operate said bus? How hard is it to avoid a stopped car? Cant be to hard I drive through parking lots all the time! Sheesh

The Fourth:

The myth that has been steadily crammed down our throats since 9-11. You have no rights, because we are trying to protect you. Its scary to see just how widely accepted this myth has become. Also thanks to things like the “Patriot Act” which have made many laws to make these statements true is even more disturbing. Freedom comes at a price. The government cant even get a stimulus check right, how do you think they are going to be able to protect you? And just what are they protecting you from? Yourself. They need to protect you from yourself because you are danger, a danger to yourself and others. So keep on swallowing that pill, it will make everything alright.

Personally I’ve never liked the vile things, so I’m glad they are finally living up the the hype I give them. However what it means to food prices, probably not so good. Its already getting bad out there in the supermarket wastelands now we have to throw another bad thing onto the pile. Its a veritable Food-mageddon!
