It seems that in all the testing of nukes and firing of missiles into the ocean, North Korea was gearing up for the big showdown. If this turns out to be what is really happening, its all about to hit the fan and surely spread. Hang on to your hats folks, this could get interesting. Perhaps this is Kim Jong-il’s last blast before he heads off into the sunset on his horse singing show tunes.

Hero of the Day: Staff Sgt. Bartek Bachleda

It’s not everyday that you have somebody in the right place, at the right time. However Staff Sgt. Bachleda was right were he needed to be. While flying on a Boeing 747 from Chicago to Tokyo, he spotted a major fuel leak coming from the plane’s wing. Apprently the pilots knew of it, but were deciding what to do. Seriously? You have fuel pouring out of your wing! What do you think would be a good course of action. I guess having a second opinion was what they were waiting for. Needless to say, I would be more than happy to have the Staff Sgt. on my flight. Check the link for the full story and pictures of the leak in action.

This is a very cool idea. The ability to see your power consumption in real time could mean huge savings for everybody. I dont know what kind of time frame Google has for this, but there are already partners in place doing testing. Honestly what kind of drawback can there be to this technology. In this day and age of green this and green that, everybody should be jumping on board and moving this idea forward. My guess is that to be able to access these features its gonna cost you. I know that our local EMC wants to charge you a premium to use “green” generated power. C’mon, like the power company can control that my house, and my house only gets the power that has been generated from the local landfill gases. Its a farce. Enough of my soapbox, here are the deets.

This is kind of interesting. I don’t know that it would be very stable on anything other than a nice flat surface, but it at least looks good. Not like some piece of crap with cardboard fins or something.

Watching the video and seeing what is going on in the background, well, I think this culture has become a cartoon. They are not quite right. At what point does it become normal to don 4 foot long orange wigs, ridiculously over sized sailor outfits and mill around at the local mall. Do you really think you are fitting in? Has life become that over bearing that you live the cartoon? I dont get it.

Fiction on the rise?

Im in talks with a friend of mine to get some fan fiction and short stories up and going on the interwebs. I want to do this because I want to start putting down my own stuff. I feel like this will be a good catalyst for me to do that. Keep an eye out!
