After a long flight, the last thing you want to do is pull a dozen pieces of luggage off a baggage carousel to check if theyre yours, since they all look pretty much the same. The best way to avoid this is to buy unique luggage, but if youve already got luggage that looks like everyone elses, here are some ways to make it stand out.

George Orwell where are you? Here is the headline in my local newspaper today: “Mercury Removal from T.F. [Twin Falls, Idaho] Apartment complex results in $50,000 bill.” That’s right – fifty grand.

I read an article on JohnChow.com about using Twitter to make money. The guy got an offer of $1000 just for one tweet. Granted he is a guru at this stuff and he also has like 50k followers, but still! A grand just for one tweet! Anywho he shared a link to the service and I am going to give it a shot. I can use the money, so we shall see what happens. Click on my referral link and help me help you!

Fireball and flash in the sky alarms Utahns

November 18, 2009 Gabe Leave a comment

This seems to be happening a lot more. I’m sure its a combination of more cameras to record these events along with an increased interest in the sky above period.

(KSL.com) – SALT LAKE CITY — People all over the state were caught off guard when a ball of fire suddenly lit up the night sky. Just after midnight, the phones lit up at KSL as people across the state called to tell us what they saw and ask what it was.

The bolide meteor was likely a straggler from Tuesday’s Leonid meteor shower. The Earth is passing the Leonids right now, which is one of the most spectacular meteor shower shows that can be seen every year.

(WIRED Science) – It’s not just NASA that’s hip to the social media game anymore. Now, the Russian space agency Roscosmos has one of its own blogging from the International Space Station.

The blog, as translated by Russia Today, includes pictures from the ISS — and covers a much different array of topics than you usually see in NASA press releases or Twitter feeds. A recent post detailed the “holy symbols” in the Russian area of the station, illustrated by photos of icons and crucifixes floating in zero gravity.

(Baltimoresun.com) – THOMSON, Ill. AP — Some folks in this dying Mississippi River town would rather take their chances with suspected terrorists in their backyard than watch their neighbors continue to move away in despair over the lack of jobs.

News that the federal government may buy the nearly empty Thomson Correctional Center and use the maximum-security state prison to house Guantanamo Bay detainees has given people in Thomson hope that things might be about to turn around in this woeful town of 450.

Official Google Blog: Explore images with Google Image Swirl, now in Labs

Back in 2001, to give people a new, quicker way to find images, we launched Image Search. When you do a search for [eiffel tower] you'll find an array of images of the tower in the daytime, in black and white, at sunset and more. With Similar Images, which recently graduated from Google Labs, you can click “Find similar images” to narrow your search to, say, pictures of the Eiffel Tower lit up at night. Today, we've launched an experimental feature in Labs called Google Image Swirl, which builds on new computer vision research to cluster similar images into representative groups in a fun, exploratory interface.
