Flooded basement = food vouchers!

23 06 2008

This has got to be the most ridiculous thing I have heard in quite some time. This lady has come to the conclusion that since her basement was flooded she is in need of food vouchers from the government. Honestly this person needs to get out of line and let somebody with actual needs in her place. Unless your basement was a food pantry and was the only thing you had left, then you might have a need.

Charline Britt was the 24th person in line at the Marcia P. Coggs public assistance building about 4:30 a.m. today, hoping to receive some help after her basement flooded during the recent rains.

I don’t think anybody in this line is going hungry, do you?

Even thought the line looks well fed, there are some people who actually do need the help. As is the case of this person.

One of those in line was Tanya Parrott, a mother of five boys. She said she had worked for seven years as a certified medical assistant but now is out of work.

“I lost my job in April,” she said. “I’ve been interviewing since then.”

Sadly people really need to start relying on their neighbors, close friends and relatives for help and quit leaning so heavily on the government.

And so goes the cruel and heartless post of the week. ∞

The New Bruce Banner / Incredible Hulk IS Edward Norton!

16 04 2007

“That Ang Lee directed Hulk movie that came out in 2003 is going to be lost forever when we finally are hit with The Incredible Hulk coming out in the summer of 2008 now that Edward Norton has been cast as Bruce Banner also known as The Hulk!”

Im am SOOO glad they are going to try again with this character. Ang Lee really went off the deep end with his earth-worship Hulk. Hulk is about rage, not moss and rocks. Nice try Mr. Lee.

Do I smell a setup?

28 11 2006

I think I do. A few days ago a 92 year old grandma was shot to death by some Atlanta Cops who had a warrant. Long story short, an informant told the APD that he had bought drugs in this particular house and it was the place to bust. So bust they did. However they busted in on granny and granny shot back and got three of the cops in various body-parts, all lived mind you, but granny is not with us anymore. Not a bad shot for a 92 year old. I remember seeing the aftermath of this on the news the night it happened. For some reason it seemed a bit to staged for me. They just happened to have a chopper filming the cops being rushed to the hospital with a huge police escort. By escort I mean that whatever intersection the ambulance had to go through was blocked off by a cop and in front of the ambulance leading the way was no fewer than 6 motorcycle cops in formation. If the ambulance wasn’t in the picture it would have looked like the president was being escorted through town. Yes it was that big. So fast forward to today and now the FBI is involved and various other alphabet agencies. The informant is now saying he was told to lie about the house where granny lived. WTH! What is going on here? Why did this guy lie about this, and how much did he get paid to do so? This smacks of conspiracy theories, especially with the other thing that just happened where some unarmed guy was shot in his car like 50+ times by the cops. Something is going on and it doesn’t look like its going to have a rosy outcome.

Being Mr. Mom

6 11 2006

Since my sister-in-law decided to move to Arizona and plant some roots by getting married. My wife flew out there to join her sister on her big day by being the matron of honor, bridesmaid for short. I was originally supposed to go on this foray into the wild west, however after much discussion I decided to forgo this adventure. Since I wasn’t going to be attending the big day I would be going it alone with our two daughters. Sounds easy right? Well our oldest, Jadyn, is 2 1/2 years old and Ava is 8 1/2 months old. I was alone with them for two and a half days! I know that being a stay at home mom can be a hard job, but now I know first hand what exactly it is like. I would certainly do it again and I loved having the time to see my girls just be and play in there own element instead of the fervor that is when I get home. I’m glad my wife is back home again and all is normal. I do however hate that I missed seeing my wife with super straight hair since hers is always so curly. O well you win some and you loose some.
